To all MFCG members Exciting news for January 2022! Debbie is organising a group booking for ApeMann at South Barrule Plantation on Saturday 29th January 2022. 10.15am meeting at South Barrule Plantation Car Park (SC275767) for a 10.30 start. This event is open to all MFCG members and will be followed by a walk of approx. 5 to 6 miles. There will also be a normal scheduled Saturday walk that day and Members are most welcome to take part in either or both activities. Information about the event: Ropes course session lasts for 2 hours. Lower course cost: £17.50 pp, includes the chance to climb and abseil down the 50-foot Monkey tree! Higher course cost: £25 pp, includes lower course and Monkey tree as above. Cost includes hot drinks/juice for all participants. You will need to specify which course you want to do and pay the required amount to Debbie for your booking in advance by no later than 14th

Firstly, a huge welcome to all our new members who have joined us over the summer, and I am sure you will enjoy the fellowship and endless benefits that come from exploring our beautiful Island on foot with MFCG. It’s been a pleasing summer with a full programme of walks for all to enjoy and, although things are still a little strange in the world, it is lovely to be able to walk in our groups with a sense of relative normality. I thank all of you who have made the summer productive with some super attendance numbers. Of course, all the walks would not be able to take place without the enthusiasm , knowledge and kindness of our walk leaders and co-ordinators. MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING at MYLCHREEST COURT, PEEL 2 pm Monday 8th November 2021 Those Present: Ken Harding – KH, Lesley Parkington – LP, David Leiserach – DL, Jack Verity – JV, Peter Gunn – PG, Peter Corkish – PC, Pat Mudie – PM. 1. Apologies: Apologies were received from Gill Smith 2. Minutes of the previous meeting: having been circulated beforehand, were approved, and signed by the Chairman, Ken Harding. 3. Matters Arising from previous meeting: • KH has written to Miles Cowshill of Lily Publications to request a meeting to discuss the percentage MFCG receives from the sale of walking books. To date he has not received a reply. • KH asked LP if we had heard from the ‘Keep in Touch’ group in Ramsey regarding a talk about the history of the MFCG. LP replied that she has put ‘K.I.T’ in touch with DL who will do the talk in September 2022. PM suggested having the same talk as
